Rick Warren, author of purpose driven life, brings up a concept that is bible based which I believe should be embraced by every believer. That is, God has a plan for each and every one of us. In Jeremiah 29:11, God declares “The plans I have for you are for good and not for evil, to give you a future and an expected end”
The purpose driven life is in line too with Proverbs 19:21 “Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the LORD's counsel that prevails”. The book is set up to be a 40-day immersion plan. Pastor Rick Warren is the founding pastor of Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, California, one of the nation largest congregations. Pastor Warren's hope is that readers will "interact" with the 40 chapters, reading them, with extensive underlining and writing in the margins. Every page of the book is full of references to the Bible. It is an excellent resource for every believers.
Pastor Rick Warren book came much to the limelight when one lady shared passages with a man who had committed murders in Atlanta and a great impact had been left in his life. A vision, a plan, is vital for every believer; we constantly hear words such as “for this cause was the Son of Man manifest, that He may destroy the works of the enemy” 1 John 3:8.
Do you know your purpose? What is your vision? Even corporate organizations have mission statements charting what they are about and what they plan to achieve. Bless yourself with a mission for your life. Dr. Myles Munroe is another authority on purpose and mission. He has shared a lot on the Kingdom of God and purpose. Do a self-examination and see, are you on course on what you hope to achieve in life? Do you know what you want to achieve? Do you have a vision? Remember - “without a vision, a people perish”
I pray to God that you will not perish and that God Almighty will open your eyes to that which He has ordained and planned for your life. Many are the plans of a man, but it is the counsel of God that prevails. May God order your steps into His counsel in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
