Joyce Meyer

Joyce Meyer was born in 1943 a day before the father left for World War II. The father was later to return but all was a nightmare for Joyce Meyer. She suffered abuse from the father; her mother did not believe her. One misfortune followed another culminating in a disastrous first marriage and a miscarriage at the age of twenty-one.

God’s plans however for those that He has preordained can never fail. The Bible says “For surely there is an end and your expectation shall not be cut off” At the tender age of nine years, while visiting some family members out of town, Joyce Meyer had an encounter with God. Her life became marked from then onward. One thing that has made many relate to her faith is the fact that she is willing to openly talk about all her struggles over the years. Her life is transparent, and her teachings are practical and can be applied in everyday life.

In 1966, Joyce Meyer meets David, an Engineering Draftsman. Within a short span of dating, they get married. She is a mother of four and she always says that neither marriage nor church solved her problems. She says she was filled with self-pity and was verbally abusive, depressed and bitter BUT Jesus Christ, The Son of The Living God. This is the Only One who has filled her void, her emptiness. Jesus is still declaring, “If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.” John 7:37

Joyce Meyer holds an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity degree from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma and a PhD in Theology from Life Christian University in Tampa, Florida. In February 2005 she was honored to be selected by Time Magazine as one of the top 25 evangelical leaders in America. Joyce Meyer hosts radio and TV programs, “enjoying every day life” The TV program is broadcast to two-thirds of the globe and her radio program is broadcast on hundreds of stations worldwide. She's a best-selling author of more than 70 books and conducts close to 20 conferences per year. In 2004, almost 2.5 million copies of her books were sold. Some of the most captivating books that she has written include. Best-sellers, "Battlefield of the Mind," and "Approval Addiction."

Joyce Meyer is an incredible testimony of the dynamic, saving work of Jesus Christ. She believes and teaches that no matter anyone's background or mistakes, God has a place for them and can help them on their path to enjoying everyday life. From the humble beginnings of a 6 a.m. bible class teacher at Miss Hulling's restaurant in downtown St. Louis to an Associate Pastor at a local St. Louis church, to a World Wide speaker, Author, and Conference host; God has been faithful to Joyce and her calling.

Prayer

Joyce Meyers ministry continues to be a blessing to many and it is our prayer that God will continue to be glorified in this ministry. May God keep her? May God make His face shine toward her. May God grant her a Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation. May God keep her and all her household and may the name of the Almighty God be glorified in her going out and in her coming in, in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
