God's Chosen Fast (by Arthur Wallis)

I first read this book about 18 years ago & have fasted many times since. However, God recently showed me that those fasts were based on the wrong motive - self-centredness & myths.

This awakeneing has prompted me to re-examine the Word of God from His perspective, that to fast is to draw close to my God, all the rest will be secondary.

To begin afresh, I need someone's guide. One with experience of an extended fast, say, 30-40 days. Could someone show me how to properly go about this practice?

By the way, the longest fast I've undertaken has been 10 days (just water). I feel led to go beyond this period for a breakthrough, to see what direction & anointing God has for my life.

I'm currently on fruit & water. Anyone who is prepared to help, please contact me. Your help will be highly appreciated. God bless.

Thank you & regards.

Hi Clem,
I know you posted your question in February, but I just "Stumbled" upon this site today...by God's guidance, I'm sure! Anyway,I have been a long time "fster" for many years now and have completed numerous fasts of longer durations. I have done several 3 day, 10 day, 21 day and several 40 day fasts as well. (As a matter of fact, today is day 3 of a 3 day liquids-only fast that I am on) I have learned alot about fasting through the years...the right ways and the wrong ways and God continues to teachme new things about this discipline even now. I can also recommend many good books that I have read (and learned alot from) on the topic as well. In the meantime, just keep praying for God to make it VERY CLEAR to you if you should attempt a longer fast. I will be praying for you. In Christ, Cindy
