Bishop Eddie Long, the leader of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, has been accused of sex abuse by four men, who claim in separate lawsuits that the Bishop lavished them with expensive gifts and booked them on trips and then forced them while they were teenagers into sexual relationships.

Bishop Eddie Long did not discuss the specifics of lawsuits filed against him; citing that he was following the legal counsel that is representing him. Speaking at the New Birth Missionary Baptist Church the congregation this past Sunday (26 September 2010), he told thousands that he has been accused and is under attack. He said, "There have been allegations and attacks made on me," He continued to say, "I have never in my life portrayed myself as a perfect man. But I am not the man that's being portrayed on the television. That's not me. That is not me," he said amid cheers and applause from the Faithfull’s.

Friend, let us pray for Bishop Eddie Long. Father, thank you for this dear servant that you have given to our generation. Dear Lord, in this time when people are wondering what is the truth, God grant him peace. We ask that you protect and keep him from every false accusation and let your truth shield him in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen. God, we further ask that You let him remain true to your calling without fear or shame. Father, be his defense against those that falsely accuse him. Father anoint him now even more, give him a greater revelation of your Word and grant him boldness and courage to carry out the mantle and the torch of the gospel. Father, you indicated in Job:5 that you will catch the crafty in their own craftiness, arise in this case in Jesus Mighty Name, amen. Arise O Lord and defend your son in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen. Father, even amidst all this, let his ministry blossom in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen. God, we decree that every weapon raised against Bishop Eddie Long be destroyed and confounded in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen. We decree a blessing upon his ministry and the work of his hands in Jesus Faithful name, Amen.
